Ah-mazing. Here we sit in the Twin Cities thinking that it has been this long, lovely autumn, which it has! Of course we hear of snow out your way, but it kind of blows off the top of the head unless we see images like this. So glad your animals are okay and that they weather things well. Thanks for taking the time to educate us.
Very glad to hear that you and the animals are ok. I hope that you get some clear weather so that you can begin the cleanup. Looks like a crazy winter, but I’m sure the herd will find a way to snuggle up near the house if it gets too bad. 🙂

NPR said this was the worst first winter storm that S.D. had ever had. Your pictures are great. Good thing that you are raising bison, since so many cattle died: shows what genes have to do with surviving.

I see on Reuter’s that many of the South Dakota cattlemen who suffered such huge livestock losses are asking for help in the form of pregnant cows. Is there anything we so far outside this disaster can do to encourage more cattlemen to turn to bison instead?
