Below are a few images that we snapped before, during and after the storm. Even with the devastation that the storm brought, joy was had.

So, no significant casualties compared to cattle farmers in the area? We were worried…. Sounds like it is going to be a long winter…

Lawrence
Ah-mazing. Here we sit in the Twin Cities thinking that it has been this long, lovely autumn, which it has! Of course we hear of snow out your way, but it kind of blows off the top of the head unless we see images like this. So glad your animals are okay and that they weather things well. Thanks for taking the time to educate us.
Very glad to hear that you and the animals are ok. I hope that you get some clear weather so that you can begin the cleanup. Looks like a crazy winter, but I’m sure the herd will find a way to snuggle up near the house if it gets too bad. 🙂
Beautiful Country!!!
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing them
Today received our order…yum! Your awesome pics of winter look like our past winters in Duluth.
You were in our thoughts during the blizzard, but knew the bison would know what to do.
So glad that you and your animals faired well with the storm, was worried about it all. Thanks for letting us all know this information.
Pictures are excellent. Knew the animals would manage this storm. Is it only the beginning or will your winter be mild? Anyone’s guess.- Betty P.
Thanks for all of your support. One never knows what Mother Nature will deliver. We remain grateful to live in such beautiful country! Dan & Jill
I also was worried! Glad to hear all turned out well.
NPR said this was the worst first winter storm that S.D. had ever had. Your pictures are great. Good thing that you are raising bison, since so many cattle died: shows what genes have to do with surviving.
You picked the flowers just in time to enjoy. Beautiful.
Will be ordering that kielbasa before long. Keep dry and warm.
I see on Reuter’s that many of the South Dakota cattlemen who suffered such huge livestock losses are asking for help in the form of pregnant cows. Is there anything we so far outside this disaster can do to encourage more cattlemen to turn to bison instead?
